Vail Mountain hosts the Alpine Ski World Championships in 2015 along with the neighboring ski resort of Beaver Creek. The Vail Mountain ski resort in the Rocky Mountains is one of the largest ski areas in the United States. At around 200 km of varied slopes for skiers of all abilities, this is the perfect choice for family ski holidays. The ski area is very spread out, so you often have the impression that you have the slopes to yourself!

The Vail Mountain ski area is made up of three sub-areas: Front Side, Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin. The front side is right near the ski resort of Vail and is ideal for families. In addition to the longest ski run (at 6.4 km) there are also three snow parks: Golden Peak Terrain Park, Bwana Terrain park and Pride Terrain Park, where all styles and levels of freestyle skiing and snowboard are catered for. At the back of ski resort of Vail are the deep snow slopes for off-piste fans and the tougher slopes for real professionals. Especially the Back Bowls area which offers almost exclusively black runs. If that doesn't sound like enough then with the Colorado ski pass you can explore Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone!
