Great ski resort for building skills
Telluride ski resort is reminiscent of the Alps, with an abundance of on-mountain restaurants and blue pistes that snake their way down the mountain. Intermediate skiers will be pleased to know that every single lift on the mountain has an intermediate ski-out option, meaning it’s not just expert skiers who get to enjoy the beautiful views from the top!
The free gondola from Telluride will land you smack dab in the middle of The Meadows, a vast beginner’s zone with a covered lift which makes for a non-intimidating introduction to the mountain. The Sunshine lift is another beginner’s-only area where you can practise your turns in peace, and the Enchanted Forest invites the youngest skiers and boarders to explore tree skiing accompanied by fun statues and hidden gnomes. Further up you’ll find terrain more suitable for advanced skiers and snowboarders, including steep chutes and gladed runs. For a true challenge, hike to the Palmyra Peak, Black Iron Bowl or Revelation Bowl and drop over the cliff edge into some sweet steeps. Telluride has over 100 park features in its snow parks which invite freestylers of every level to build confidence and improve their skills.
