Alpine Meadows has a true West Coast vibe, with a local population of laid-back skiers and snowboarders who are happy to welcome you to the place they call home. You won’t find kitschy chalets or ski-in, ski-out hotels at Alpine Meadows – it’s all about the sport here. Die-hard skiers and boarders who prefer the actual winter sports part to the après-ski will feel right at home here.
Alpine Meadows is not a lively village like at Squaw Valley, but if you’re hankering after some après-ski, the overall Squaw Valley - Alpine Meadows linked ski area has around 20 sun terraces to choose from, both on and off the slopes. Après-ski starts on the hill at the Umbrella Bar, the Last Chair Bar or the Ice Bar. If you’re still bored after the ski day ends, Squaw Valley – Alpine Meadows also offers snowshoeing dinner tours, scenic gondola rides to the mountaintop pool and skating rink, snowtubing, mini snowmobiles, snowshoeing, dogsledding, a climbing wall, a sky jump, spa facilities and 18km of cross-country skiing trails.
