Ski area Cairngorm Mountain

Nestled in the CairnGorms National Park in the midst of the Highlands, CairnGorm Mountain (640m-1230m) is Scotland’s best-known mountain and the sixth-highest in the country. It is served by eleven lifts, including the highest funicular railway in the UK. There are 32km of pistes over 35 runs catering mainly to beginners, as well as a snow park and cross country trails.

CairnGorm is a good place for beginner skiers, with plenty of pistes on the easier side. The ski area has recently opened an in-house snow school which offers group and private lessons for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The Shieling Shred and the Ptarmigan Freestyle Park are popular with freestylers of all abilities, who take inspiration from annual CairnGorm events such as the Scottish Freestyle Championships, the Ptarmigan Slopestyle Jam and Bag The Pipe. Red piste Ciste Gully and black Coire na Ciste offer a challenge to more advanced skiers.
