Vaud, or the Alpes vaudoises as it is known in French, is located in western Switzerland. This nature-rich region has some of the most beautiful ski resorts. The canton borders France, while French is the primary language spoken. Vaud partly borders the shores of the enormous Lake Geneva, so don't be surprised if you can enjoy the lake's view from several regional ski resorts.
In Vaud you can, among others, visit the ski resorts of Les Diablerets and Villars, where you can benefit from excellent snow conditions. There is also a glacier where you can ski and snowboard from early to late in the year. Another recommended ski resort is Leysin, also known as the freestyle-walhalla.
