Alt St. Johann is a family and child-friendly village in eastern Switzerland with only 800 inhabitants. It belongs to the municipality Wildhaus-Alt St. Johann which is the highest municipality in the Toggenburg region, between the mighty Säntis mountain range and the seven Churfirsten. The village does everything possible to make families feel welcome - which explains why it was awarded the "Families Wilkommen" label!
The fairytale landscape contributes to a pleasant winter experience in Alt St. Johann. Toggenburg is the ski area of Alt St. Johann and is shared with Wildhaus and Unterwasser. The total number of kilometers of pistes is 60 kilometers and is suitable for all ages and for beginners and advanced. For winter sports enthusiasts who prefer to keep off the downhill slopes there are various winter activities such as hiking or cross-country skiing.
