Les Masses is a small and little-known ski resort town located in the Swiss canton of Valais. The town is located in the eastern part of the Les 4 Vallées linked ski area. From Les Masses it’s easy to ski the slopes of Veysonnaz, although the slopes surrounding Verbier are a little harder to reach. Les Masses is situated at an altitude of 1550m above sea level and the town mostly consists of chalets and a few small apartment complexes. The small village centre has a supermarket, restaurant and ski hire shop.
The chairlift takes skiers and snowboarders from the town to the pistes of Thyon and Les Collons. Here you’ll find the Piste de l’Ours World Cup run as well as the ungroomed run of l’Eteygeon. Les Masses is not exactly a cheap ski holiday destination, but it’s equipped with everything you need for a successful family ski holiday, including children’s ski lessons with top-notch instructors.
