Røldal is a tiny village in Hordaland, in the west of Norway. The village has a population of just 600 people and is located at an altitude of 400m above sea level. The higlight of the village is the Røldal Stave Church, an ancient church dating back to the 13th century that attracts a fair number of tourists every year. The crucifix of the church is said to have healing powers.
Røldal is also known for its delicious goat's cheese and, of course, for its ski area. The Røldal Skisenter has almost 20km of pistes as well as fantastic off-piste routes. Another interesting sight to visit is the Røldal Village Museum, which showcases a traditional Norwegian farm.
