Rating on Oppdal
Management is poor
I was so excited to come over. It's a ski resort that is situated in the heart of Oppdal. What a panorama you get here on a clear day! However, I was way more disappointed in the slopes and the organisation in general. There is no feeling with international tourists. Indications to essential information remain in Norwegian. Especially information that avoids additional costs. After I had asked what some of the signs in Norwegian would mean, I got completely lost because no one seemed to know. I was flabbergasted by the answer I got. It took about 30minutes to have some clarity to simple key information. No maps of the resort are provided at the booth. Parking is at own expense without the (expensive) ticket to the field. Once at the field, you really don't get value for your money. The safety signals are mostly confusing. Even the fact that some of those signals were generally missing. People get lost at the slopes. The slopes are being maintained at a minimal level of quality - I would call this 'French quality with German attitude', which is a toxic combination to the worst experience you could ever imagine for people's safetiness and joy. Preparation at the slopes is poorly done. Slopes are ice, miss snow and get really dangerous due to the inclement weather the resort is being exposed. The snow that caught the slopes was mainly brought by the wind itself. I was really lucky the weather was clear and sunny. I cannot imagine this resort would be suitable in any other circumstances. This management misses vital awareness on how to cope with peole's needs.
