Kvitfjell is one of Norway's most snowsure ski areas. Built in the 1990's for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Kvitfjell offers almost 30km of pistes served by 9 lifts. The longest slope is 3.5km long, but if you feel the need to explore past the boundaries of the ski area, the Lillehammer ski pass offers the possibility of crossing the border into four other ski areas: Lillehammer/Hafjell, Gålå, Skeikampen and Sjusjøen Skisenter.
From Kvitfjell you'll have gorgeous views of the surrounding Norwegian landscapes. Uncrowded pistes and virtually no lift queues make this an attractive option for those looking for a relaxing winter holiday. The ski area is relatively low-lying, with a maximum altitude of 1039m, but snow is guaranteed all season long thanks to the northern latitude. Night skiing is also possible in Kvitfjell on the Kvitfjell Express and the Familieheisen. The Kvitfjellparken snow park will keep freestylers busy, with its half pipe and three quarter pipes. Olympic fans can retrace the steps of the champions on the black piste #1, aka the Olympiabak, which was used as a race track during the Olympics.
