Beitostølen is a lively village at the foot of the Jotunheimen mountain. The village is charming and everything is within walking distance, but despite its small size, it is linked to one of the most well-rounded ski areas in Norway. For a special kind of challenge, you can hire a guide and go ice-climbing here. The village gives access to two ski areas: Skisenter and Alpinsenter.
Beitostølen is located in the southeast of Norway in the Østlandet region. It is ideally situated not only for cross-country skiing and downhill skiing, but also for winter hiking. In the Jotunheimen National Park you'll find lovely hiking trails with views of the snow-capped mountains as well as various lakes, such as the Gjende. The ski season here usually begins at the end of November and runs through to the beginning of May. Snow shortage is not a problem here as it is for other European ski resorts and you'll always find enough snow for your holiday.
