Goldmine for cross-country skiers
Beitostølen has two separate ski areas, one on either side of the valley: Skisenter and Alpinsenter. Families will feel right at home in Skisenter, while more advanced skiers will prefer the challenging terrain in Alpinsenter, or they can take the ski bus to Raudalen, 5km down the road. Beitostølen offers 20km of pistes in total, with 9 lifts. It's also a fantastic place for cross-country skiing, with 320km of trails, as well as many other winter activities.
Beitostølen also offers dog sledding, ice climbing and ice fishing. The ski season goes from the end of November to the beginning of May. There's no need to worry about snow cover here, even though the slopes only reach a seemingly low altitude of 1107m. The ski area is surrounded by breathtaking scenery - one of the highlights is the Øyangen lake.
