Ski areas Upper Savoy
Upper Savoy is located in the north-east of the French Alps. Here you will find ski resorts with hundreds of kilometres of slopes, famous ski destinations and Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc. You can find many authentic villages here, otherwise not too common in other French winter sports regions. In La Clusaz, Châtel and Samoëns, among others, you won't find any high-rises but rather lovely traditional chalets and buildings.
The most famous destination in Upper Savoy is Chamonix. This village has gained fame for its location at the foot of Mont Blanc.
