The Massif des Aravis ski area extends across the Aravis mountain range in Savoie and Haute Savoie. Located in eastern France, the picturesque ski area is renowned for its off-piste terrain and dedication to freeriding and freestyling, which has seen many a professional skier and snowboarder trained here. The ski area has more than 200km of slopes in total, spread between the ski resorts of La Clusaz, Manigod, Le Grand Bornand and St. Jean de Sixt. Le Massif des Aravis enjoys international popularity thanks to its proximity to the airports of Geneva Airport, Grenoble Airport and Chambéry Airport. Getting to the Massif des Aravis from the UK is also possible by car via Calais.
The rocky summit of Mont Lachat de Chatillon rises, sparkling blue and white like a cut diamond, over the ski resort of Le Grand Bornand. Nearby La Clusaz is known as a freerider’s paradise. Quiet Manigod and St. Jean de Sixt make it possible to have a ski holiday far from the crowds while still enjoying access to the Massif des Aravis ski area. The various ski resorts are linked by lifts and free ski bus. Don't forget to visit the various panoramic viewpoints to enjoy spectacular views of the surroundings from the highest point of the Massif des Aravis ski area, the Col de Balme (2616m), and from the Col des Aravis, which grants views in the other direction towards Mont Blanc. While the Massif des Aravis is relatively low-lying, artificial snowmaking infrastructure ensures good snow cover throughout the season.
