Good variety of terrain We spent most of our time savouring the delicious Savoyard food! I've known this ski resort for more than 30 years. It's got something for everyone and some great mogul runs.
Meribel in the spring - just perfect We were in Meribel last week - didnt even realise it was the World Cup and so very surprised to see all the entertainment - music, etc and also we were lucky to actually see Linsey Vonn win! We had some amazing weather but of course if you get sun at this time of the year, you also get poor snow low down! We were skiing on water at the end of the day! High up and towards St Martin the snow was still pretty good. Had a couple of great private lessons with ESF - found some secret spots where no-one goes and also spent an afternoon table dancing at the Folie Douce - well we just had to really!
Expensive but worth it We've been to Mottaret Meribel a few times now and each year have had a great time. The staff in bars and lifts are really friendly and the off-piste is great! The ski passes are expensive but you get what you pay for - you have to remember what goes on behind the scenes while you're sleeping at night or having breakfast - a whole team of mountain workers slaves away to get those pistes in perfect condition for you and yours! The resort itself is great for a stroll and a bit of window shopping - nice stores with lots of cool gear but WAY too expensive - take note and order on the net in the sales when you can back home! A lot of fun had in some apres ski bars - can't remember the names though sorry!
Pretty, stylish ski resort. Right in the middle of the 3 Valleys, we found this resort a lot less expensive than its reputation. We stayed in a great apartment with open fireplace for 400 euros and even though the ski passes were expensive, we managed to eat at lunchtime and in the evening for very reasonable prices. You just have to shop around. Great place for people watching - lots of fur coats and cigars! Loads of apres ski.
Lovely resort! Charming, lively ski resort with great skiing. Loads of restaurants and bars - not all expensive as we feared!
