The ski area of Les Rousses is located in the Haut-Jura, at an altitude of 1120 meters up to 1680 meters. The ski area is accessible from four villages: Les Rousses, Lamoura, Prémanon and Bois d'amont. This is a small, cozy ski area, which focuses on families meaning ski slopes are quiet and safe. The ski area is located on the border of France and Switzerland
Les Rousses' ski area stretches over four mountain ranges. From the top of the slopes you can enjoy the views over the Mont Blanc and the valley of Lake Geneva. The ski area has 50 km of ski runs and 34 ski lifts. Cross-country skiing is very popular in Les Rousses. There are no less than 220 km of cross-country trails so this comes as no surprise! Every year in February, cross-country races take place here called the Transjurassiene and Trans Jeune. As the name suggests, Trans Jeune is a cross-country skiing race especially for children. Other activities in Les Rousses include dog sledding, snowshoeing and skijoring. In this ski area there are also a number of 'Free' areas where guests can enjoy the slopes without needing a ski pass! The resort does not have its own restaurants, but for delicious, traditional dishes you can visit the four surrounding villages which will give you a chance to discover their charms.
