At the foot of the Pic de l'Aiguille Gleize is one of the smaller ski areas in Champsaur called Laye. This ski area is very family friendly and great for beginner skiers. It is near the eponymous village of Laye, and has slopes between altitudes of 1300 meters and 1950 meters above sea level.
The Laye ski area is mainly aimed at beginner skiers and families, because it is a quiet ski area, with easy ski runs. There are a total of eight runs making up about 10 km in total. There are 2 green runs, 2 blue, 3 red and 1 black run. Part of the Laye ski area is covered by a snow cannon. For children there is a play area, a snow park, a toboggan run and there is also a big air bag. Après-ski is very quiet in Laye but in the village there are some restaurants. The village is famous for its cheeses which you must try while on your ski holidays in Laye.
