Near the small town of Entremont-le-Vieux in the Rhone-Alpes, are the equally small La Desert D'Entremont and Le Granier alpine ski areas. The slopes here are ideal for children and beginners. There is also a fantastic cross-country ski area making this a great spot for fans of both alpine and cross-country skiing. From the ski areas you have stunning views of Mont Granier.
The areas are perfect for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing but also snowshoeing , sledding and biathlon. These are snow-sure areas, with La Desert d' Entremont being situated between altitudes of 1200 meters and 1450 meters above sea level and Le Granier ski area between 1000 meters and 1420 meters. La Desert d' Entremont ski area has 3 lifts and a small 50 km of slopes. These are mainly blue and green runs. Cross-country skiers can head to the six cross-country ski trails. In the Le Granier area there are 4 ski lifts and 4 slopes, 2 green, 1 blue and 1 red. These are great areas for first time skiers on thier first ski holidays.
