High altitude skiing
The French ski resort Isola 2000, has its own ski area which reaches as high as 2610m and is divided over three areas: Pélevos, St-Saveur and Levant. What makes the Isola 2000 ski area so great and its snow so reliable is that the lowest slope is at an altitude of 1840m, therefore you are always skiing above the treeline on great snow.
The resort of Isola is at 2000 metres, hence the name, and pisted runs reach over 2600 metres on the summit of the Sisteron mountain - where it is possible to see the Mediterranean sea on a clear day! Snowboarding is particularly popular in Isola 2000 as there are plenty of ‘board-friendly’ ski lifts and a dedicated snowboard park with its own drag lift and a half-pipe too! If you're looking for sunny slopes and relaxed ski holidays, Isola 2000 is the place for you. Along with the resort of La Colmiane, Isola 2000 is among the most popular ski resorts in the South of France.
