The last village in the valley of Chamonix is Vallorcine. A quiet, charming mountain village hidden behind the Col des Montets mountain pass and at the foot of the Aiguilles Rouges mountains. Vallorcine is composed of several hamlets at the foot of the surrounding mountains and extends to the Swiss border.
Vallorcine feels like a very traditional mountain village but has everything you need for great ski holidays. Restaurants, nice shops and a lovely spa. Vallorcine also gives access to two ski areas - the Domaine de Balme and Domaine skiable de la Poya. In the village itself there is a lot to do and explore. In the center of the Vallorcine is a skating rink and a museum called La maison de Barberini and is in an old house from the early 18th century. Near the village is a waterfall and a cave, both of which are accessible via a footpath.
