Geographically speaking, Auron is part of the outskirts of Nice on the French Riviera. This means, of course, that the weather here is generally sunny and warm with surprisingly good snow cover! Bare in mind, however, that at the weekends this ski area becomes a little overcrowded as French people from Marseille, Toulon and, in particular Nice, drive up for a weekend ski break! The ski area consists in 4 parts: Las Donnas, Sauma Longue, Demandols and Lieuson. The total ski area makes up 135km of beautiful, sunny slopes which are well shared out between blue, red and green runs.
The ski area in Auron offers plenty of challenging, steep slopes with 33km of black runs and some excellent off-piste skiiing to keep advanced skiers on their toes. Intermediate skiers can practice for hours on end on the 46km of red runs but it is the beginners who will really be over the moon here as there are 53km of pleasant blue runs to gain confidence on! There is snow park here and a few rails and kickers where snowboarders can practice their tricks.
