Multicultural city with vibrant culture
Downtown Vancouver is a stunning juxtaposition of beach, park, skyscrapers and commercial port clustered around the old town centre, Gastown. Wandering through different neighbourhoods, from Chinatown to the Downtown Eastside and over to English Bay, will make you appreciate the multihued fabric of people that make up this cosmopolitan city.
As there is no accommodation at the ski resorts, you’ll be heading back into town after a day on the slopes. On nice days in late autumn or early spring you can even go skiing and swim at the beach in the same day! Vancouver is known for its multicultural (especially Asian) population and the restaurants here are correspondingly world-class, with fresh seafood and Canadian wine to boot. Cheer on the Canucks hockey team at one of the downtown bars, wander around Gastown and Granville Island, head to Stanley Park and English Bay to enjoy the spectacular views of the sun setting over the water and enjoy the laid-back West Coast vibe.
