This year we're taking it a step further! For several years now we've been hoping to organise our own ski season opening party so we can share this special moment with our fans. This year we're very excited to announce our dream is finally a reality! We will be kicking off the ski season in partnership with the Austrian ski resort of Gurgl. Come celebrate the opening of the "first non-glacier-ski-area" in Austria to open its slopes for the 2019/20 winter season! Gurgl is the name for the shared ski area of Obergurgl and Hochgurgl. It's tucked at the end of the Ötztal Valley, near the popular ski resort of Sölden. Thanks to the high altitudes of both villages (more than 1900m above sea level) and the ski area (up to 3080m above sea level), Gurgl is able to open its ski lifts in November every year. Last year by November there was already more than enough snow to be able to open a significant portion of the ski area's 112km of pistes. Gurgl is a well-kept secret compared to its busier neighbours, meaning short lift queues and lots of room on the slopes. Fast, modern lifts and sunny slopes round out the offer. Starting in the day and lasting well into the night, the slopes will come alive with the sound of music from top DJs! The Reithalle in Obergurgl will be the place to be for the wildest party animals, with music well into the wee hours. In the ski area the Dutch team of DJs Dames Draaien Door will keep the party going with all the most popular après-ski hits in spectacular locations like the Festkogel Alm and the Cross Mountain Point. For Friday and Saturday evening, Dutch bands Legends and Waterproof Shampoo will light up the stage.
