Did you know that France and Switzerland have organisations that certify certain ski resorts as family-friendly destinations? If you're looking for a ski resort where the kids will have fun and Mum and Dad won't go bonkers trying to organise all the logistics, these ski resorts just might be the key. We've broken down the labels in each country where you can find certified family-friendly destinations for your next family ski holiday with the kids. Happy skiing!
France: Famille Plus
The Famille Plus label has a 6-point code that guarantees successful family ski holidays:
In every Famille Plus ski resort, you'll find accommodation providers, restaurants and activity providers that do their best to ensure families feel at home. Currently, there are 46 mountains in France with the Famille Plus label. Destinations are evaluated every 3 years to make sure they still meet the criteria for the Famille Plus label.
Switzerland: Family Destination
Switzerland awards the Family Destination label to places that provide curated activities for kids so Mum and Dad can catch a break while knowing the little ones are having a good time. For the most part, these destinations offer activities both in winter and in summer. Currently there are 25 Family Destinations in Switzerland. The label is valid for a certain time period, currently 3 years. The same umbrella organisation also gives mention to hotels that cater to families with kids. The hotels are divided into two categories, with childcare and without childcare.
