Just when you thought ski season was over, we have news for you: it isn't! The Stubai Glacier and several other glaciers in Austria are reporting up to a foot of fresh snow overnight, with the snow line falling to an altitude of 2000m, which is relatively low for this time of year.
Glacier ski resorts still open for skiing
This week's snowfall comes right on the tail of last week's freak snowfall, which saw two Austrian ski resorts re-open for skiing thanks to the huge quantities of snow. A handful of high-altitude ski resorts in the Alps remain open for skiing during the summer months, for those who didn't get enough powder this winter! Other non-glacier ski areas also reported fresh snow, though not the abundance that fell in places like Stubai Glacier and Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel – Kaprun Glacier. Let's hope the snow sticks around so we can get an early start to next year's ski season!
