End of season festivities in the Three Valleys

So you thought it was all over for this ski season – well not quite yet! It’s snowing again at the moment across the Alps which means conditions will be perfect for the end of the 2012/13 winter season! Some ski areas, in particularly the Three Valleys ski area, are high enough to stay open well into the month of May, so why not make the most of all that wonderful white stuff and some warm spring sunshine and get back up on the slopes for an end of season blast! Val Thorens is holding its Apotheosis Days from the 1st to the 8th of May to mark the end of the winter season with tons of entertainment for everyone...

Activities for all ages

On the agenda, there are activities for all ages and tastes! Here’s a quick look at what’s in store…

• Water slide
• Sports Tournament on the Place de Péclet
• Forum of workshops, tests, seminars, etc to promote exchanges between professionals,...
• Outdoor Fun Park (bouncy castle, trampoline ...)
• Evening Cocktails from 5pm to 7pm
• Arc Trap sessions
• Fireworks
• French Street Golf Championship
• Soapbox/sledding Race
• “Batucada Day” - fancy dress day
• Funky Flip Sessions (a giant flipper on the snow with video projection by night)
• Speed slalom skiing
• Giant picnic followed by a downhill race to music
• Kontum Ski and snowboard competitions (all benefits from this event go toward helping ethnic minorities of Kontum in Vietnam develop farming projects, traditional hand crafts, cultural patrimony protection, scholarships...).
• Vertical Kilometer of Péclet : Ski touring and running races
• Children’s Show : By Les Arts Verts Theatre Company

Live Concerts are programmed almost every evening at 9pm at the Sports Centre:

• Friday, May 3rd : Echoes Tribute to Pink Floyd & Patch Work
• Saturday, May 4th : Excitements & Exit
• Tuesday, May 7th : Evening Folie Douce - SM Electro
• Wednesday, May 8th : Sortie de secours
