With over 270km of pistes, the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is one of the largest and most diverse ski areas in the Alps, offering something for every type of skier and snowboarder. But it’s not all about the skiing! Grab lunch in a rustic mountain restaurant, dare to take a spin on the zipline or take the kids tobogganing by night: the opportunities at this Austrian ski area are endless! Here are 12 of our favourite activities to do in the Skicircus.
1. Stop for a drink in one (or two) of the many après-ski bars
Whether it’s a cosy wine bar or a rollicking après-ski pub you’re after, you’re sure to find the perfect après-ski joint in the Skicircus. There are dozens of idyllic spots both on and off the slopes where you can reward yourself with a drink or two after a day of skiing.

2. Ski the Jausernabfahrt and piste #88
Of the many great pistes in the Skicircus, a must-do is the 7km-long Jausernabfahrt from the top of the Schattberg, nice and wide and perfect for carving. Another tip is piste #88 from the top station of the Asitz lift. Reminiscent of the autobahn, this is a nice cruiser that draws skiers of all levels.
3. Discover the freeriding at Fieberbrunn
Fieberbrunn is one of the top freeriding spots in the Austrian Alps and is an annual host resort for the Freeride World Tour. If you’re well-versed in avalanche safety and properly equipped for off-piste terrain, don’t miss the chance to explore the phenomenol freeride routes. Hire a guide, both for safety reasons and also because they can show you all the best powder stashes!
4. Ride the Flying Fox XXL in Leogang
For a real adrenaline rush, hit up Leogang and take a ride on the Flying Fox XXL. This slightly different take on a zipline straps users in facedown, for extra-good views of the ground far below. The Flying Fox XXL is 1600m long and reaches speeds of up to 130km/h – not for the faint of heart!
5. Ski The Challenge
The Skicircus has several ski circuits to choose from, each one offering a unique way to discover the ski area at your own pace. The most famous is The Challenge, 65km long and with 12400m of altitude gained and lost. Only advanced skiers should attempt The Challenge, which passes through all the villages of the Skicircus. Don’t forget to budget some time for a quick break at one of the many mountain restaurants you’ll pass on the way!
6. Go night skiing on floodlit slopes
It's not every ski resort that offers night skiing! Skiing under the stars on the floodlit slopes is an unforgettable experience you won’t want to miss. The Skicircus offers two locations for night skiing: the Schanteilift in Leogang, and a variety of slopes in Hinterglemm including the snow park, the new funslopes, the SkiMovie race track and the snow tubing.
