An après-ski hotspot, a freeriding mecca, a popular stop on the Freeride World Tour... this is the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. The enormous linked ski area sprawls across the heart of the Austrian Alps in the states of Salzburg and Tyrol. This year, the Skicircus continues its drive to offer skiers and snowboarders a top-notch ski holiday experience. New updates at the Skicircus for the 2018/19 ski season include two new lifts and increased snowmaking capabilities, for an even more comfortable, efficient holiday with guaranteed snow!
Saalbach has inaugurated a brand-new Kohlmais cable car for the 2018/19 ski season. Replacing the iconic red gondolas from 1989 and modelled on the Schönleitenbahn, the modern 10-person monocable gondola has an hourly capacity of more than 3200 people. The bottom station of the modernized lift will also have 100 underground parking spaces, and the ticket offices will be easy to access from the street. All in all, the renovations will reduce queues for skiers and snowboarders who wish to access the pistes on the Kohlmais mountain from Saalbach’s village centre.

Leogang replaces old Asitzmuldenbahn with modern 8-person chairlift
Over in Leogang, the old Asitzmulden 6-person lift is to be replaced by an 8-person chairlift with heated bubble seats, so you can reach the top of the Asitz in the ultimate lap of luxury. The new 'Muldenbahn' boasts an hourly capacity of more than 3500 passengers which makes accessing the Leogang area as convenient as never before.

New reservoirs for increased artifical snowmaking
The Skicircus is also adding two reservoirs, one at the Hochalm II and one at the Streuböden, for a total increased capacity of 406,300 square metres. The Skicircus ensures top-notch snow throughout the ski season with around 1000 snow cannons and a dozen reservoirs, with the ability to cover almost the whole ski area with artificial snow when necessary.

The Skicircus is one of Austria's top ski resorts
Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn has a total of 270km of ski slopes, with a good portion allotted to beginner and intermediate skiers who can practise endless turns on the perfectly groomed slopes. Expert skiers needn’t fret, as the ski area is also a mecca for freeriding, with many challenging routes through the deep powder snow. If you’ve never been night skiing, now is your chance to try, on a floodlit slope fitted with environmentally friendly LED lights. The main ski season at the Skicircus starts on December 22nd, but many of the lifts are already open for the pre-season.
