Ed pulls into the Mayrhofen train station before meeting Zoey Deutch and his friends at the panorama bar in the Tuxer Fernerhaus. They frolic on the slopes of the Hintertux Sommerbergalm and go for a torch-lit ski session (this one might be a bit more difficult to recreate) and then head to the Hohenhaus Tenne for après-ski. For the conclusion, the street between the Hohenhaus Tenne and the Hotel Neuhintertux was transformed into a magical scene worthy of… well, a romantic film.

Austria’s Lanersbach-Hintertux is open for skiing all year long, so Ed Sheeran and his crew were able to shoot their music video during the summer. The ski area reaches an altitude of over 3000m, offering guaranteed snow and almost 50km of slopes, including one piste that is 10km long. In addition to the 365 days a year of skiing and snowboarding, the ski resort also offers plenty of attractions and a lively après-ski scene away from the slopes. Hintertux Glacier is close to several other well-known resorts, namely Mayrhofen and the Zillertal Arena.

Born and raised in the ski paradise of Vancouver, Canada, I learned to ski before I can remember, balancing precariously on my parents’ skis as they sailed down the hill. I started snowboarding in my teens and am now delighted to be exploring everything Europe’s ski scene has to offer!
