The town of Villach is the center of a beautiful cluster of ski resorts in the southern Austrian state of Carinthia. The old town of Villach has been a landmark for years and one finds a mix of Italian and Austrian culture here. The restaurants in Villach are exquisite and the people very welcoming. The Dreiländereck and Gerlitzen ski areas have mostly blue and red runs which are all very suitable for families. The Verditz ski area offers some more challenging runs for experienced skiers. In total there are more than 50 kilometers of slopes in the area. Many mountain bike trails and hiking trails can be found in the forests around the lakes at Faak Ossiach.
