Nauders Bergkastel is located just before the Reschenpass, not far from the border triangle with Switzerland and Italy. The ski area has over 75 km of slopes, located between 1400 and 2750 metres of altitude. The lifts leave just outside the village of Nauders and are easily accessible by ski bus. Nauders Berkastel has a sunny location, but thanks to its high altitude and modern artificial snow systems, it is very snow-sure. The range of slopes is versatile, with plenty of opportunities for beginners and advanced skiers.
Child-friendly ski resort Nauders Bergkastel
Families travelling with children immediately feel at home in Nauders Bergkastel. The ski area is very child-friendly and offers extensive facilities for a winter sports holiday with children. At 2200 metres, right next to the mountain station of the Bergkastelbahn and the valley station of the Goldseebahn, lies the 6500 m2 Nauderix Kinderland. This gigantic kids' area is one of the best in Austria and features, among other things, a practice lift, carpet lift, tubing track and merry-go-round. For children from two years old, the Miniclub provides childcare. For more entertainment, Nauders Bergkastel offers, for example, the Nauderix Rallye, a wildlife adventure forest and the Nauderix Kidspark.

Snow Probability Nauders
The slopes of Nauders Bergkastel have a sunny location, between 1400 and 2750 metres altitude. Thanks in part to the altitude, you benefit from a snow-sure ski season here. Moreover, there are plenty of modern artificial snow facilities to cover any gap left by Mother Nature. The ski area is usually open from early December to mid-April.
Diverse range of slopes
Winter enthusiasts of all ages and levels of ability will enjoy the slopes of Nauders Bergkastel. Of its 75 kilometres of pistes, 23 km are blue, 34 km red and 18 km black. The slopes are accessed by 13 modern ski lifts and there is almost never any large crowds. Even in high season, you never stand in a long queue for the ski lift. The runs are generally wonderfully wide and both valley runs nice and long. An absolute tip is blue run number 2, accessible with the Zirmbahn, this run is incredibly wide and even one of the widest in Austria. For extra long ski fun, add the red 7 and 1 to this. Also nice are the red 17, 19 and 12 in combination with the blue 21.
Tobogganing in Nauders
Nauders Bergkastel offers several opportunities to go tobogganing. Absolute highlight is the natural toboggan run Bergkastel, which with a length of 8 km is one of the longest in Tyrol. The toboggan run starts at an altitude of 2200 metres and ends in the valley. The toboggan run at Lärchenalm is about 4 km long, illuminated and also open on some evenings.
Cosy mountain huts in Nauderix Bergkastel
In need off a coffee break, hot chocolate with whipped cream or an extensive lunch? Several cosy mountain huts, restaurants and bars are found around the ski area. Right at the mountain station of the Bergkastelbahn is Panoramarestaurant Bergkastel, with a large sun terrace and, especially for families, the Nauderix Kinderrestaurant. The Stieralm and Lärchenalm both have a traditional feel and serve a mix of traditional and international dishes. Bistro Arsangs serves homemade cake.
Cross-country skiing in Austria and Italy
From Nauders you have access to a cross-country skiing area with over 90 km of trails, of which 40 km in Austria and 50 km in Italy. There are trails for all levels, from beginner to advanced, for both classic and skating techniques. Equipment can be rented from various rental companies in the village and courses are also offered.
Part of the Zwei Länder Skiarena
The number of kilometres of pistes at Nauders Bergkastel is easy to expand. The ski area is part of the Zwei Länder Skiarena, meaning that with the Zwei Länder Skiarena ski pass you can ski on 159 km of pistes in two countries (from two days and over). Also part of the ski region are Schöneben-Haideralm and Watles, both located in the Italian province of South Tyrol near the Reschensee.
