Ski almost all year round at Austria’s Mölltaler Glacier! Nestled at the foot of the Grossglockner mountain, the highest in Austria, the Mölltaler Glacier ski area at Flattach is open 330 days a year. The snowsure slopes reach altitudes of 3122m and the surrounding region boasts beautiful scenery, including crystal-clear mountain lakes.
Take the Mölltaler Gletscher Express underground funicular up to the middle station and then transfer to the Eisseebahn cable car, which will bring you to the large sun terrace at the Restaurant Eissee. From here, several challenging slopes lead back towards the valley, past the Weißsee and Hochwurtenspeicher reservoirs. The Gletscher Jet will take you even higher, to the Schareck mountain station at 3100m. Here you’ll find wide glacier pistes, a fun park and a route through the powder that will take you to the Stübele lake. Less experienced skiers can practise their carving on the slopes off the Panoramabahn Klühspies and the Alteck lift. Overall, the Mölltaler Glacier offers about 20km of slopes, plus 10km more in the neighbouring Ankogel ski area.
