The Austrian ski resort of Lienz is so close to the Italian border that the southern influences are strongly felt. The magnificent area is adorned by several impressive and famous summits. Both city and environment provide several options. For instance, two ski areas exist each appealing to one specific type of skier: beginners and slightly advanced skiers should head for sunny Zettersfeld, advanced and experienced skiers will find a more challenging terrain on Hochstein.
