The city of Lienz offers many après-ski opportunities such as lively bars and good restaurants, just as one should expect from a bustling city. Here, there are many activities and experiences to try apart from skiing. However, if skiing is what you've come for, there are two ski areas with ski slopes which present a challenge to all levels. On the runs there are many refuges with breathtaking views of the Dolomites and there are also many opportunities to ski in powder.
Many international training teams regularly set up camp in Lienz to professionally prepare for their competitions on the 40km of slopes in this excellent ski area. The Women's World Cup race takes place on the Hochstein, the home mountain of Lienz, every two years - proof of the quality of the skiing here. There are good facilities for snowboarders here too!
