Andorra's longest valley downhill run
Arinsal is a typical Andorran ski resort with a mix of new hotels and apartments with quaint water fountains in the center where the locals collect their drinking water, which is also bottled for the supermarkets here. This ski resort is extremely popular particularly among snowboarders and freestylers because of the 40,000 square metre freestyle area including jumps, rails and boarder cross.
The ski resort of Arinsal is at 1400 meters of altitude to the west of Andorra at the end of a valley in the southern part of Andorra. From the resort, the ski area of Vallnord can be reached by a ski lift, however, unfortunately, skiing back to the village is not an option. The ski resort has an animated and lively après-ski making it very popular with the younger crowd. The prices are generally very reasonable here. This ski resort can boast Andorra's longest ski run and with the new link to Pal, the ski area now has a very respectable 65km of slopes (mainly reds and blues). Many of these runs cut through the forest making for some very pleasant skiing. The ski school here is excellent and has many English speaking instructors which is great for kids and teenagers learning to ski.
