The Vallnord ski area in Andorra includes the ski resorts of Arinsal and Pal and Ordino-Arcalis, although the 2 areas are not connected by ski lift, only ski bus (approximately 40 minutes away). In 2004, the 3 areas joined together under the same lift pass, offering a wide variety and choice of slopes for skiers and snowboarders. The ski areas of Pal and Arinsal are suitable for both beginners and experts and the highest point reaches an altitude of 2560m where you can enjoy breathtaking views on the surrounding mountains. More daring skiers will find a challenge on the black run, the “Pic Alt de la Capa” – not for the faint hearted!
With around 90 kilometres of marked runs, 3 ski schools with plenty of English-speaking instructors and beautiful scenery, this ski area is an interesting alternative to the GrandValira ski area. A 50-person cable car links Arinsal and Pal but note that the closing time is 16.15pm because if you miss the last one, getting back to your accommodation could be a little long and complicated! The Vallnord ski area has over 350 snow cannons guaranteeing excellent snow cover throughout the season.
