Between Gstaad and Les Diablerets lies the Glacier 3000, one of Switzerland’s most beautiful glacier ski areas. The gondola brings you up to an altitude of almost 3000m in just a quarter of an hour. On the way up you’ll have breathtaking panoramic views of the Saanenland region, including the Arnensee lake and the gigantic massifs. From the top station there are views of a staggering 24 mountain peaks over 4000m, including the Jungfrau, the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. If you can’t get enough of the views, continue enjoying them from the comfort of the Botta or Refuge l’Espace mountain restaurants.
Winter at the Glacier 3000 boasts around 25km of pistes, including the challenging 7km long Oldenpiste and a snow park for freestylers. Popular activities including dogsledding and the scenic glacier walk. There are 75km of hiking trails as well as the Sanetsch circular walk, and cross-country skiing is possible in the summer. Adventurous souls can brave the Tissot Peak Walk, a 107m long suspension bridge that connects the two mountain peaks. Boost your adrenalin levels even more with a wild glacier ride on the Alpine Coaster, one of the highest roller coasters in the world.
