A lovely layer of fresh snow fell at altitude yesterday and overnight. With a northwesterly stream, a cold front managed to reach the Alpine region. Snow fell mainly on the northern side, but only from 1,000 metres altitude. Higher up, it looks nice and wintry again. Locally, up to 20 cm of snow has fallen. In this blog, some nice webcam images.
After several mostly sunny but very mild days, a short break with some fresh snow followed yesterday. A cold front managed to reach the northern Alpine region, bringing 5 to 20 cm of fresh snow there. It refreshed the landscape wonderfully. This morning, some snow may still fall from residual clouds, but it soon clears up and the sun comes out. Next weekend it will be sunny and dry almost everywhere.
